About the Quit Smoking Course

‘Stop Quitting on Yourself – Start Choosing You’

“Smoking is rarely the real problem, it is often a coping strategy. This programme helps you understand what smoking has been doing for you, and empowers you to replace it with healthier, lasting ways of feeling calm, in control, and free.”

This six-session integrative programme offers a supportive and empowering space for individuals who are ready to stop smoking and create meaningful, long-term change.

Whether you have tried to quit before or are making this decision for the first time, this course is designed to help you break the habit at both a conscious and subconscious level, while strengthening motivation, confidence, and self-belief.

Many people smoke not because they truly want to, but because smoking has become linked to stress relief, routine, comfort, or emotional regulation.

This programme helps you understand your personal smoking pattern and retrain the body and mind to respond differently. Blending counselling, coaching, somatic techniques, and hypnotherapy, the course supports nervous system regulation, craving management, habit change, and identity transformation, helping you move from “trying to quit” to “I don’t smoke.”

Each session is tailored to meet you where you are, supporting you at a pace that feels safe, respectful, and achievable.

Programme Structure: Six Supportive Sessions

This programme is offered as a six-session therapeutic pathway, designed to gently support individuals through grief while respecting that everyone’s experience of loss is unique.

The sessions blend counselling, coaching, and hypnotherapy, and are adapted to meet each person where they are emotionally and psychologically.

Session 1 – Becoming Clear

This collaborative opening session explores your relationship with smoking: when it began, what triggers it, what purpose it serves, and what it may be costing you emotionally, physically, and financially.

Together, we identify your motivation, your fears about quitting, and what a smoke-free life would genuinely mean for you.

A gentle hypnotherapy session is included to begin planting positive subconscious change and strengthening clarity of intention.

Session 2 – Preparing to Quit

This session focuses on building a clear and practical quit plan.

We explore routines, habits, stress triggers, and high-risk moments (such as mornings, driving, work breaks, alcohol, or emotional overwhelm).

Together, we establish a quit date (if appropriate) and create a supportive strategy to increase success.

Hypnotherapy is used to reinforce commitment, strengthen self-control, and create a powerful “contract to self” that supports follow-through.

Session 3 – Quitting: Breaking the Pattern

This session is designed to support you at the most important turning point, either immediately before your quit date or once you have stopped smoking.

The focus is on managing cravings, reducing withdrawal-related anxiety, and breaking subconscious associations between cigarettes and comfort or relief.

Hypnotherapy strengthens identity change, supports calm breathing as a new coping strategy, and reinforces the mindset of becoming a non-smoker.

Session 4 – Stengthening Change & Building Evidence

This session supports your progress after quitting.

We explore what has improved, what remains challenging, and how to manage any lingering cravings or emotional triggers.

This stage focuses on building confidence through evidence, reinforcing the fact that you are doing it.

Hypnotherapy supports relapse prevention, strengthens motivation, and helps the subconscious mind accept this new identity as natural and permanent.

Sessions 5 & 6 – Ongoing Flexible Support & Relapse Prevention

The final two sessions offer flexible, ongoing support and can be used at any stage after quitting.

These sessions are designed to help you maintain progress, overcome setbacks, and stay aligned with your goals. Support may include coaching, counselling, hypnotherapy, or somatic techniques depending on what is needed.

These sessions may focus on:

  • managing stress without cigarettes
  • breathwork and nervous system regulation
  • “urge surfing” (learning to ride cravings like waves rather than act on them)
  • reinforcing motivation and confidence
  • planning for challenging situations such as holidays, alcohol, social pressure, or emotional triggers
  • strengthening identity change: “I don’t smoke” rather than “I’m trying to stop.”

These sessions recognise that lasting change is not just about quitting, it is about learning to live differently, with greater calm, resilience, and self-trust.

Important Information

Quitting smoking is a courageous journey that demands both willpower and genuine effort, and while hypnotherapy serves as a powerful ally in this process, it is not a magic solution that does the work for you; rather, it is a supportive tool that empowers you to embrace your strength, understand your habits, and cultivate a smoke-free identity.

Through our tailored approach, we aim to enhance your resilience and motivation, helping you to navigate the emotional complexities of smoking while reinforcing your commitment to change – ultimately guiding you to take ownership of your journey to a healthier, smoke-free life.
