Finding Your Voice

Fear of public speaking is not a sign of weakness — it is a natural response to feeling seen, evaluated, or judged. With understanding, support, and the right tools, confidence and self-esteem can be strengthened, helping you trust yourself and notice the positive qualities in yourself that often go unseen. As self-judgments and judgments of others become more compassionate and constructive, you naturally feel safer and more confident to speak out, even in front of larger groups.

This six-session integrative programme offers a safe and supportive space for individuals who experience anxiety or fear when speaking in public — whether in meetings, presentations, interviews, social situations, or any context where being seen feels challenging.

Fear of public speaking, often called glossophobia, is closely linked to confidence, self-esteem, and fear of judgment — both of oneself and perceived judgments from others.

Blending counselling, coaching, somatic techniques, and hypnotherapy, this course helps you understand and regulate anxiety, strengthen self-esteem, and build authentic confidence, so you can express yourself clearly and calmly.

Each session is tailored to meet you where you are, supporting you at a pace that feels safe, respectful, and empowering.

What Can Cause a Fear of Public Speaking?

The development of a fear of public speaking can be traced to various personal experiences, such as early negative feedback during presentations or the pressure of high expectations from oneself or others, which can create lasting impressions that fuel anxiety.

As individuals compare themselves to others or dwell on past mistakes, these feelings often intensify, leading to a heightened sense of vulnerability and self-doubt.

Furthermore, cultural influences that stigmatise vulnerability or encourage perfectionism can exacerbate this fear, making speaking situations feel even more daunting.

Recognising these factors is the first step towards transforming anxiety into empowerment, allowing individuals to embrace their authentic voices and communicate with confidence.

  • Introduction to guided relaxation/hypnotherapy to reduce nervous system over-activation

  • Reduce internal criticism and fear of judgment
  • Develop a more compassionate internal voice, which directly supports calm and grounded speaking

Sessions 5 & 6 – Integration, Practice & Ongoing Support

  • Hypnotherapy, coaching, or somatic practices to embed confidence and calm
  • Support for maintaining progress, strengthening self-esteem, and applying skills in group or high-stakes situations
  • Emphasis on ongoing growth: as self-judgments and external judgments shift, speaking becomes easier and more authentic
