Cognitive Behavioural Therapy  is a “talking therapy” based on the idea that “what we think (Cognition) affects the way we feel (Behave), and what we feel affects the way we think.”

By helping you to understand and manage your thoughts we can teach you how to create different outcomes – feelings and behaviours. It is often more suited to people who do not want to “go back” or “re-visit” past negative experiences in their lives and does NOT involve the use of Hypnosis at all.

Sessions are often referred by GP’s as an alternative to the prescribing of anti-depressants and has been proven to be a very effective therapeutic technique. CBT is a research based technique that produces measurable results and for this reason has been widely adopted by the National Health Service. Please be aware however, that we are a private practice with our own fee structure and usually we have much shorter waiting times than the NHS.

What happens in a course of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy?

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy involves uncovering, understanding and then changing those thoughts that lead to behaviours and feelings that are causing you problems.

Paul or Justina will help you to “get to the bottom” of these thought patterns, see them with a more “balanced” point of view, and then set about changing those behaviours through various techniques and methods.

Single sessions can be paid for using cash and cost £80, but please try to aware that people generally need 10 or more sessions to get the most benefit from this intervention.
